Monday, April 8th, 2024 Special Eclipse Event!

While we're not directly in the path of totality, we're still expecting 91%
Because of our relatively high percentage, ASKC will be opening the doors of Powell Observatory at 11 AM.

We will be giving tours of the facility, and will be planning educational content on the Sun.
We will also have several telescopes with solar filters set up for viewing, and will have special ASKC Eclipse Glasses available for purchase.

The timing for the April 8th, 2024 Solar Eclipse is:

Partial begins - Apr 8 at 12:37:10 pm
Maximum - Apr 8 at 1:54:09 pm
Partial ends - Apr 8 at 3:10:49 pm

Gates will be open at 11 AM, and we will remain open until 4PM.
Please bring a blanket or chairs, as the event will take place on grass.

Drinks and refreshments will be available for purchase.
