Warkoczewski Observatory

The Warkoczewski "Warko" Observatory

is located on the roof of Royall Hall on the University of Missouri – Kansas City campus and is open on most clear Friday evenings from May 1st until October 31st starting at dusk for viewing of the moon, planets, bright star clusters and nebulae. The main telescope is a custom designed, 16” Newtonian reflector and is operated by the Astronomical Society of Kansas City for the university.  Admission is free and its central location, just east of the Plaza, makes it very convenient for city residents.  You may want to bring warm clothing for early spring and late fall nights, but come up and enjoy the surprise of just what astronomy is possible in the heart of Kansas City!
